Interior design has always been my passion, and I love to share that passion with others, helping them find ways to truly enjoy their homes. I’m a busy working mom, so I understand the challenges women often face in trying to manage their homes, families, and jobs. I love to get to know my clients and their families and identify their households’ specific needs. Sometimes, it’s as simple as needing privacy or light control in a bedroom or an uncertainty about how to decorate a room. In many cases, my clients are simply too busy to create the kind of space they love to come home to. That’s where I come in. I love to create cozy homes for busy families!
I have two teenage sons, Andrew and Joseph, the “A” and “J” of A&J Interiors. They light up my life with their caring ways and wonderful sense of humor. Thanks to my two boys, I’ve learned which fabrics are the most stain-resistant, and which furniture pieces can withstand even the heaviest daily abuse from the boys and our dog, Scrappy Doo.
My husband, Drew, makes me laugh every day and supports me in all that I do. We’ve been married for 26 years, so I know about all the little (and big!) compromises made between a husband and a wife during the process of turning a house into a home.
Cooking is a very important aspect of my life. Maybe it’s because when I cook, it brings back memories of cooking with my mother and grandmother -times that I thoroughly enjoyed. I have a very efficient kitchen, with a place for everything, and everything in its place. It’s also a beautiful, welcoming space—the kind I love to create for my clients.
I understand that my clients’ lives are often hectic, and just like them, I work odd hours. I like to fit in as many baseball games and track meets as possible! My goal in working with you is to respond to your needs and ensure our meetings fit into your busy schedule as seamlessly as possible.
If I am privileged to become your designer, we will work closely to find the decorating, storage, and household solutions that fit your style. I believe your home should be a reflection of your personality (not mine!), and I am committed to providing expert advice and service that’s tailored to your individual needs and tastes. I also share design tips in my blog and newsletter, so please check in often, or better yet, sign up to receive updates via email!
I am a proud member of the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce. A large group of us meet monthly at 7 AM to network. As you can imagine, sitting through 40 or 50 people giving their “pitch”, one might start to nod off. One morning I decided to liven things up – when I gave my “pitch” about blinds shades and shutters I ended with “call me for a blind date”. Needless to say, it got everyone’s attention and that became my tag line of sorts for our meetings. The chamber, in an effort to encourage their members to produce videos for their websites, created a contest…the “Olivers” and this year my “Blind Date” video won the award for Most Creative. I had a lot of fun making this video with my producer Ron Jaghab of HDTV productions http://htvproductions.tv/. My costar, Dan Hirschberg of CHP Communications http://www.chppublicrelations.com/Home.html was such a good sport!
